Trixie -My name is Trixie and I was adopted from the Camarillo Animal Shelter 10 years ago.  At the time I had no hair from mid-back to mid-tail, buy my Mom and Dad thought I would be worthy any amount of vet expenses, so they adopted me.  My Mom used to work all day, but then she had a lot of back problems and surgeries, so she couldn’t work any more.  Now she stays home with me all day (Yay!).  In 2006 we became a certified Love On A Leash Pet Therapy Team.  We visit seniors and we also participate in the Paws for Reading program at the Camarillo Library.  In 2007 we had a professional dog trainer come to train me to be a Service Dog.  I pick things up for my Mom so she doesn’t have to bend over so much.  It really helps her when things roll under a table or bed and I go get them for her.  If there’s more than one thing on the floor, she uses a laser to point to the thing she wants me to pick up.  It’s a really fun game!  We are eager to help Jenn get her own Service Dog.  Maybe I can be her “mentor”.
